Bits of my Life

This is how I look as of the moment. Apparently, my hair can be tamed. With lotsa oil of course. Well I guess it's somehow beneficial for my hair so I shouldn't be complaining. I seriously expected my hair to be wild. Sometimes even when I forget to soak it with oil, it's still kind of okay which is very surprising. My hair is coping up!!

When shopping for food earlier this morning, I bought this. I was actually looking specifically for that Calbee chocolate covered potato chips which I used to eat everyday (then got sick of) but they're kind of hard to find these days so when I saw this, I thought I'd give it a try. The choco powder you have to add on your own. I believe I have tried something similar just to the ring itself and I didn't really enjoy it and I thought adding something to it would make me like it, but no. It's a complicated flavor so I don't really know if I like it.

Breakfast!

Cheeseburger from 7/11. I bought this because someone I watch on YouTube said it's her favorite bento and I was like, must try!! I mean, it's okay but it's not as great as I thought it would be. But it was delish! Expectations.

Tart lovin'

On my way to work yesterday, I bought pastries (as I always do)  and I was like putting random stuff on my tray and this was included and I was like, what is this sorcery? I thought all along that those are leaves on top of it until awhile ago, I was so ready to eat leaves only to find out that those are strawberries. I haven't cross-sectioned a strawberry yet so I don't really have an idea how it looks like so yeah. Maybe it was designed, maybe it's just how it is? Nevertheless, it was a delicious treat.

Whatta beauty

I took this earlier this year and I've been wanting to share this with you all but I guess I didn't have a proper blog post for it but I can't just not share. I believe I've told you how amazing sunrise looks like here and yeah I really appreciate it and believe me when I say that this won't be the last photo of it that you'll see. Sorry not sorry.

Another throwback shot. I think Winter is ending now. This is how the mountains look like weeks ago.

This is how the mountains look like now. Gone too soon! That's all! See you.

Family Mart Macaroon Review

To be honest, I was so interested in trying these when it first came out but due to previous bad experiences, I did not but now I am glad I picked it up. It's been around for probably like months now.

Rasberry, Matcha, Chocolate, & Lemon

Before, I'm only really interested in Macaroons because they are associated with France and lord knows I am obsessed with Paris. Now, I just want to prove that it's not as horrible as I think it is. Quality wise, I wouldn't consider myself lucky for a lot of times. I haven't tasted authentic ones yet so I don't really know what's up and back in the Philippines, I tasted two brands and both were too sweet for my liking. They have this very sharp confectioner's sugar taste and I don't like that. Like, come on. And crappy fillings I must add. Moving on to Japan...

  Pretty!

Pretty surprised with these though!! The shell and everything tasted very mild. Me likey! For actually the same price range, Family Mart Macaroons taste expensive. I mean, it's convenience store brand so that's what's up.

I tried Lemon first because I thought this would taste worst but I was surprised because it was actually really good!!! All tasted pretty true to its flavor. Very distinct from each other. The shell is also crispy-soft which I like. Also I just made up that description and it doesn't make sense hahaha.

I thought Matcha would be my favorite but it's actually a tie between that and chocolate. Raspberry was okay. Not a big fan of it though. Yeah I recommend this if you like Macaroons or just sweet things in general. Ciao!

Fire is Definitely Catching

On my terrorist post, I compared ISIS/ISIL to the Hunger Games and I meant that as a pun but then thinking about it, it's really the Hunger Games of real life. I have actually just watched Mockingjay in HD. Still not in cinema because we all know that they won't be showing it here until May 15 and I came to realize a lot of similarities. Like, see how they have all these propagandas and stuff, how they kill people in an instant, and all other things? Is Hunger Games their reference? It's really disturbing. But you know, fire is catching.

I'm literally obsessed with reading all these articles about this terror group. What they're doing, where are they now, and what have they done again. I don't know why. Do I need help? LOL.

I don't know where to start with my point to be honest. Or did I make a point already? Anyways, they burned 45, beheaded 21, kicked and dragged 3, and then radicalized 3 more. They're doing more stuff behind the scene of course. Which is why it's all the more disturbing. Also, they're training young children to be one of them in the future. I don't know what their religion teaches them but it's selfish. Selfish to be stealing childhood from these kids at least. Speaking of kids, I have seen the video they posted of a kid who shot down two men. Wow. To be able to do such thing at a very young age is something to be afraid of. If he can do that now, it's scary what he can do later. Or he might grow up to be a good muslim and realize he's better than what they thought of him to be. I still trust human beings. I hope this organization self-destruct and we can all live in peace again.

The video beheading the 21 men is now controversial because experts reckon that it is manipulated. We all know I'm not talking about the murder part. It was clear that they beheaded the guys then and there and I don't think we can deny it. Just the scenery. They reckon they did this on a studio. It's the same as when Katniss Everdeen was asked to make her first propo in the green room in District 13. It's actually funny. The similarities.

What I am mostly pissed about the issue is that 3 young girls went missing and thought of joining the terror group. Like, why? Kittens and Nutella again? Why not bring Nutella to school and I don't know, adopt a kitten? I know most of them are probably good looking and I don't know what they promised you but if it doesn't contain "we're gonna stop killing innocent people if you marry us" or "we're gonna change from now on" then I'm judging you. Also, unless you've been hijacked with tracker jacker venom, you're out of your mind. They're young, yes. But not too young to be able to think for their own. It might be a little insensitive especially for the family but that's what I think. If caught by authority before actually joining the terror group, the 3 should be admitted to a mental hospital. I'm just saying. The thing is they are trying to go on their own. Gah! It's also almost the same as the production crew from the Capitol who flew on their own to District 13 to join the revolution. See, if they're that kind of people, I'm not gonna complain. You see, these "brides" making their way to their "groom" only makes it all complicated. Because they would breed and make it all complicated.

It's the total opposite though. In the Hunger Games, the good side is recruiting people to join the rebellion whereas in real life, the enemy is recruiting members. And in both situation, the propos are working. But just like the Hunger Games, it's gonna be alright in the end.

Few countries are now sending their fighter jets to drop bombs to this terror group's "location". It killed a few of them but we still have a long way to go to eradicate this. But until then...
Lives would end along the way but they won't be wasted. For a bigger cause, for a better world.

How I Celebrated thy Birthday

We took Purikura!! Loves it!! Can I just say that all along, Dems thought that my name is Miki and not Mikie. Oh friendship.

Celebration ice cream! Basically, I had two mini celebrations for this 23rd Birthday of mine. Pretty plain actually but kind of good. Strawberries were sour though. Meh.

Peace be with you

Us 4. Baby Tora is growing really fast. He's not yet very participative of course. It's either he's asleep or crying or like sleeping again. Most likely just sleeping.

The Feast

It's like walking down memory lane. Bamiyan food is still so comforting, I don't know why.

Yunmy Fried noodles!!

I probably ordered this 8 out of 10 times we went to Bamiyan because I'm just so into it. Demi asked me how can I eat this and thdn told me she can't eat this but me, likey likey!

We went to Baskin after. I had a scoop of Choco Mint and you know me! I so love Choco Mint and recommended it to Dems and she said she likes it. I still can't understand why some people doesn't like it. Anyways, I'm so proud of Hidems for being a mum. I didn't imagine this happening so soon for her but I'm glad.

Anyways this is like the 2nd part of the celebration. We had a little feast at work and it's so nice to celebrate my Birthday with all new people. Pizza, noodles, chicken, and softdrinks. Very typical. I want to thank these auntie's for being so kind and for celebrating with me. Until next year.

New hair don care

Basically, I cut my hair shorter. I was kind of asking my stylist to cut it shorter-shorter because the damage of my hair is beyond "don't cut it too short" but he refused and was worried my hair would go wild. I was kind of confident in explaining and at the end of the day, I got rejected. Oh my hair, you never fail to embarrass me. Hahaha but I fully trust hair stylists here in Japan. I think they know what they're doing. And they take time perfecting what they're doing.

Took photos of my long hair before going to the parlor only to realize it's really effed up.

Also, I wanted to have my hair colored lighter. In the past, before this picture above of course. My hair really never cared whether you color it with blondish colors, reds, browns, anything!!! Like, it just wouldn't absorb color. I'm glad that we're actually seeing color now.

After picture. In fairness, I like the style and the color. He did say that he used like the strongest color I believe. I hope he didn't mean strongest chemical. Because I sure don't need more chemicals to damage my hair. Can I just say that the stylist is kind of flirting with me, he was like "きれいですね" and I was just like, "I DON'T SPEAK MUCH JAPANESE" LOL. But he's nice overall. Kind of cute.Entertaining.

It would be sure hard to keep this kind of hair style. It would go wild if you don't tame it with lotsa hair oil and stuff. But I'm happy. I probably got rid of half my split ends and frizzy hair. OMG may I just add that when I was about to go out, there's actually like a complimentary hair treatment product and he was like, please use it. I find it rather insulting. Haha oh well. Dry hair don care. That's all y'all!

Taking Over Harajuku/Shibuya. 2.9.15

To be honest, this is like already one of the cutest stuff I've seen in Harajuku. I also didn't see much "gyaru". I've seen probably 6 of them. Sad.

There are quite a lot of stores in this place and if you just want to spend your money buying stuff, you'll enjoy your time here for sure.

First crepe store I've seen

Going to Takeshita street

It's actually quite near Harajuku Station so you'll never go amiss.

Takeshita Street

Just this street alone will feed you cute stuff! And your stomach too.

Takeshita street is actually kind of small but really full of cute finds. Like, shops after shops. Candy shops, dress shops, restaurants, like, not a single space wasted. And I like that they're all Indie-ish and cute.

Crepes!

Being totally bias, I bought my crepe at Marion Crepes. No idea which one to choose so I chose the one with the longest line. I think the one I got was called Banana Cheesecake or something. It was kind of cold that day so I didn't order the one with the ice cream version whichI bet would be awesome in summer.

Crepes display

Very curious what veggie crepe tastes like. Should I? Should I?

Angels Heart Crepe

Santa Monica crepes

I don't know what is it about Harajuku but there were lots of crepe shops. I'm not complaining. LOL. I think they have like at least 3 Santa Monica crepe store in the area so I'm looking forward to trying some from that shop.

Harajuku is not only a place for cute stuff but oh my gosh also a place for high end stuff. Chanel, D&G, Dior, and a lot more side by side and I was like, okay, going the other way now. LOL.

Harajuku Station

Selfie

Not that these selfies have anything to do with Harajuku. Like, it's difficult traveling alone I feel like. Kind of hard taking pictures of yourself with the stuff that matters. My face matters. Hahaha

It's kind of a vintage looking station and I'm actually really into it. It's not as fancy as Tokyo Station though. I think.

People crossing the street

Harajuku H&M and Forever 21

Lotteria

After a very long walk, I had this and went to Shibuya. At this point, my feet is really aching because of wrong decisions. Hahaha damn you heels!

Touchdown Shibuya

Shibuya lights

If it weren't for my aching feet, I would have stayed longer in Shibuya. It's so pretty there!! Like, lights everywhere and stuff.

Hachiko statue

I miss my dog Shiki. To my disappointment though, didn't take a selfie with it and it's underrated. Like not much people cared about it there, I feel. Lots took pictures though and boom, done.

Pretty!!!

Will definitely be back!! It's so festive. Me likey.

Emotional Birthday Drama

My first selfie as a 23 year old woman

I don't know what it is about this Birthday that makes me like 10 times more sensitive than the usual. I swear I feel emotional over simple things. Argh! I'm 23 now!! Will probably find it hard adjusting saying I'm 23 when asked how old.

SURPRISE!

My mom surprised me with these letters. I got the red one in my post but the letters from my sisters (white) were hidden somewhere in my apartment and because I don't really look into stuff here, my mom succesfully did the trick. It also came with the dedication Toblerone bar. Good job to my mom who did not only surprise me but saved money. LOL.

Birthday gifts for myself

Not really expecting from anyone so I bought myself gifts. I bought them when I was in Harajuku.

My Mini Birthday Cake

I also went ahead and bought myself a mini birthday cake. I didn't even make a wish :/ I just ate it right ahead. Oh well. That's life. Anyways that's all I have to say. I'm not really lonely. Well maybe I am. I'm alright. Just not used to it. Just because this is gonna be the first time celebrating it with different sets of people. But I will be okay. There were a lot of sweet messages that made up for it. Thanks. Happy Valentine's Day.
